Sam LaPorta
TE - Detroit Lions
2024 Outlook
Sam LaPorta has been removed from the injury report for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the 49ers.
Fantasy Impact
LaPorta was never expected to miss Sunday's game. He'll continue to play through injuries that have been nagging him for the past few weeks.
Sam LaPorta returned to practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
LaPorta returns after he was sidelined from practice on Wednesday. He'll look to dominate in the middle of the field on Sunday against the 49ers.
Sam LaPorta registered a DNP at Wednesday's walkthrough and his status is questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship in San Francisco.
Fantasy Impact
LaPorta has been wearing a brace since hyperextending his left knee in Week 18 but he was active for both subsequent playoff games. He caught a touchdown against the Rams and caught 9-of-11 targets for 65 yards last week against the Buccaneers so he has remained a valuable fantasy asset even while nursing this injury. He should be a go against the 49ers but if he isn't, it's worth noting that the Lions signed veteran Zach Ertz to their practice squad this week. LaPorta's backup, Brock Wright, has also been dealing with injuries so the tight end situation in Detroit could be an interesting development as we head toward Sunday.
Lions TE Sam LaPorta is officially active for the Divisional Round matchup with Tampa Bay.
Fantasy Impact
LaPorta was officially listed as questionable with a knee injury. The rookie tight end played through the injury last week and should be expected to see a similar workload against the Buccaneers.
Sam LaPorta was limited at practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
LaPorta was a full participant at practice on Wednesday, so it is a slight downgrade for him. He should still be good to play for Sunday nonetheless.
