Kyle Pitts
TE - Atlanta Falcons
2024 Outlook
The Atlanta Falcons are exercising the fifth-year option for Kyle Pitts.
Fantasy Impact
As expected, the Falcons will pick up the fifth-year option to keep Pitts under contract for another season. He has been a bit disappointing so far relative to how much he was hyped up after being drafted fourth overall back in 2021, but this season he will finally be healthy and will presumably have good quarterback play from Kirk Cousins. This move was expected but still adds a bit more long-term security to the tight end's profile.
Falcons GM Terry Fontenot said Kyle Pitts is healthy this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
Fontenot added that the team still has a lot of faith in Pitts. New Falcons OC Zac Robinson has said he expects Pitts to be a key part of the Falcons passing attack. It is also worth noting that Atlanta released Jonnu Smith, who saw 70 targets last season.
Kyle Pitts completed 2-of-3 passes for 27 yards in the Falcons’ 48-17 loss to the Saints.
Fantasy Impact
Pitts continues to split time with Jonnu Smith at tight end, which has impacted his production this season. The 23-year-old will finish the season with 667 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 53 receptions. The Falcons could decide to move on from Arthur Smith, which would impact the offensive play calling in 2024.
Kyle Pitts turned five targets into just one reception for five yards during the Falcons' 37-17 loss to the Bears in Week 17.
Fantasy Impact
Snow, wind, and poor quarterback play contributed to Pitts finishing with a single catch. He'll be hard to trust in next week's season finale against the Saints.
Kyle Pitts caught 3-of-4 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' 29-10 win over the Colts.
Fantasy Impact
Pitts was able to haul in the lone passing touchdown thrown by Taylor Heinicke in a game dominated by the Atlanta run game. He will remain in the low-end TE1 range with upside next week.
