Kenny Pickett
QB - Philadelphia Eagles
2024 Outlook
The Eagles have acquired QB Kenny Pickett form the Steelers in a pick swap.
Fantasy Impact
Pickett figured to likely be headed towards a backup role with the Steelers in 2024 after the team signed QB Russell Wilson, but he will now head to Philadelphia to backup QB Jalen Hurts. The move confirms that Wilson will be the starter in Pittsburgh and that Pickett will have very little fantasy value next season, barring an injury to Hurts.
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett could get another chance to be the team's starter in 2024 despite his struggle-filled 2023 campaign.
Fantasy Impact
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Pickett connected with new OC Arthur Smith in Florida and reportedly had a "great" meeting. Sources in Indianapolis told Fowler they believe Pickett could get another chance with the belief he could improve under Smith's guidance with Matt Canada now out of the picture. As well, Fowler said the team has begun the process of "rebuilding [the] third-year passer" for next season, though competition is still expected to be brought in.
Steelers GM Omar Khan said he has “full faith in Kenny Pickett” when speaking at the NFL Combine.
Fantasy Impact
The Steelers have stated they plan on adding competition to the quarterback room this offseason. Pickett was eventually benched late last season for Rudolph, who is set to hit free agency.
The Steelers are reportedly expected to add "competition" to the quarterback room this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
It was reported that the Steelers are expected to explore signing Ryan Tannehill this offseason. There were also reports of Mike Tomlin having interest in Justin Fields. It remains to be seen who it'll be, but Pickett will have added competition in camp this offseason.
Kenny Pickett was a full participant in practice on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
Mason Rudolph has already been confirmed as the starter for the Steelers. Pickett will likely back him up barring any setbacks.
