The Minnesota Vikings re-signed Jonathan Bullard to a one-year deal.
Fantasy Impact
Bullard was strongest against the run last season. He should remain in a similar role on the defensive line with the Vikings.
The Bears defense could not stop the passing attack of Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton on Sunday, even though they got to the quarterback five times. One of the guys who sacked Luck was rookie Jonathan Bullard. This was Bullard's first career sack and he also recorded three solo tackles.
Fantasy Impact
Bullard had a great game, but he is not consistent enough for IDP leagues. Keep an eye on him as the rookie could earn more playing time and could develop into a decent pass rusher in Vic Fangio's system.
The Bears defense was getting run over by Ezekiel Elliot on Sunday. Jonathan Bullard and the front line could not contain the rookie running back who gashed them for 140 yards. Bullard finished the game with two tackles, but left early with an undisclosed foot injruy.
Fantasy Impact
Bullard does not have much fantasy value, but the rookie has been seeing more playing time and playing decent. If he cannot suit up for the Bears who already lost tackle Eddie Goldman, then the Bears will struggle stopping even the Lions' backfield in Week 4.
Third round rookie DL Jonathan Bullard is beyond athletic. He flashed that on Thursday night with two tackles and a lot of hard work with the second team defense.
Fantasy Impact
Bullard isn't a starter yet, but I think he's on track to be one of the first-team defensive ends this season. Akiem Hicks and Mitch Unrein are the starters for now, but I fully expect Bullard to overtake the slow and run stopping Unrein very soon.
Chicago went back to the trenches again, but this time on the defensive side of the ball. Jonathan Bullard had 66 tackles, 17.5 TFL and 6.5 sacks for Florida last year.
Fantasy Impact
Bullard will not be a starter, but Bears' GM Ryan Pace has voiced he wants to add competition. Bullard should have the opportunity to work in on sub-packages and be a rotational guy.
