James Harrison retires

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting former New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher James Harrison has announced his retirement.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison is retiring for the second and "final time" after 14 seasons in the NFL. The All-Pro linebacker made the announcement via his personal Instagram account earlier this morning. Harris retires with 84.5 sacks, 573 tackles, and 34 forced fumbles, earning five trips to the Pro Bowl, two First-Team All-Pro Honors, and a DPOY award. Adding his two Super Bowl Championship wins with the Steelers, Harrison is in the conversation for the Hall of Fame.

James Harrison, ageless wonder, records sack in victory over the Chiefs

Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison played 15 snaps and logged a QB sack in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison has been kept in bubble wrap all season, but he was unleashed in limited action this Sunday. Showing vintage burst and power, Harrison recorded three tackles, a pair of QB hits, and a late-game sack on Alex Smith as well. By preserving the 39-year old Harrison early on, the Steelers defense could certainly receive an extra pass-rushing boost as the season progresses.

James Harrison re-signs with Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker James Harrison agreed to terms on a two-year, $3.5 million contract Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison, 38, re-signed with the Steelers Thursday. He will be 40-years-old by the time his contract expires in 2019. Despite his age, Harrison is still a productive NFL player who keeps himself in tremendous shape with his workout and training regime off the field. This could be the linebacker's final contract before he retires.

James Harrison, Clay Matthews & Julius Peppers to talk or face suspension

Green Bay Packers LBs Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews, Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison and free agent LB Mike Neal are each facing suspensions from the NFL if they fail to cooperate and provide interviews to the league by August 25 in regards to their involvement in the ongoing performance-enhancing drug probe.

Fantasy Impact

The pending suspensions to Matthews, Peppers, Harrison and Neal are slated to begin on August 26 as the deadline to provide their respective interviews to the league falls on August 25 according to the USA Today. This case originally stemmed from an Al Jazeera America Documentary that linked the aforementioned players to performance-enhancing drug use.

LB James Harrison confirms he will play in 2016

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison took to Instagram to announce that he will be returning for the 2016 season.

Fantasy Impact

This was to be expected, as Harrison still has juice left in the tank despite turning 38 in two days. He finished last year with 40 tackles and five sacks while providing veteran leadership for a young, unproven group of outside linebackers. He will continue to be a part-time player in 2016.
