The Cleveland Browns claimed Jaelon Darden off waivers on Wednesday.

Darden was waived by the Buccaneers on Tuesday. He should serve as a depth wide receiver for the Browns and could be used in special teams. Anthony Schwartz was placed on injured reserve as the corresponding move.

According to Ari Meirov of PFF, WR Jaelon Darden has been waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Being a second-year player, Darden will be on the waiver wire for any team to claim. Darden, coming out of North Texas, struggled to see the field as a receiver, catching just two passes in 2022. However, he was used as a returner and could be claimed for the same role.

Darden drew four targets in the game, but only caught two of them. The entire Bucs offense didn't look good, so this will be a game to forget. Darden is still a fine dynasty stash but his redraft value is nonexistent without injuries above him.

Darden was second on the team in targets with six, but only caught two of them. He has been a shining player in training camps, and he will look to improve his numbers next week. He's merely a bench stash right now unless injuries occur.

Fantasy Impact

The Buccaneers have added even more depth to one of the deepest WR rooms in the NFL with the selection of Darden. Considering Tampa Bay already has Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson the opportunities for Darden will likely be limited during his rookie season. Darden lacks size but does however have upside due to his blazing speed and ability to make plays downfield.
