Denver Broncos RB Damarea Crockett announced on Twitter that he tore his ACL, sidelining him for the season.

Crockett was an undrafted free agent out of Missouri in 2019 where he rushed for 2,252 yards and 19 touchdowns in three seasons. He's been with the Broncos since October 2020 as a member of Denver's RB room, and he suited up for 12 games last season, playing in Week 3 of 2021 and carrying the ball three times. His ACL tear will keep him off the field in 2022.

Houston waived Damarea Crockett on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Fantasy Impact

Crockett, an undrafted rookie free agent, has been impressive during training camp and the preseason. But the team needed the space after acquiring Carlos Hyde. Look for the Texans to try to get him on their practice squad. If not another team will.

Damarea Crockett rushed three times for 27 yards and caught one pass for five more as the Texans lost the Cowboys in the third preseason game by a 34-0 score.

Crockett is an undrafted rookie out of Missouri who just saw his chances of making the Texans roster increase with Lamar Miller hurting his knee on Saturday. At 5-foot-11, 225 pounds, Crockett has the build to handle a short-yardage role and could see goal-line attempts as well if he makes the team.

Crockett is an undrafted running back out of Missouri trying to make the Texans roster this season. There is an outside chance he does stick but more than likely will end up on the practice squad.
