Devante Parker re-signs with the Dolphins

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Dolphins and wide receiver Devante Parker have agreed to terms on a new two-year deal to keep him in Miami. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is somewhat surprising, but it appears that new head coach Brian Flores thinks much more of Parker than Adam Gase did. Throughout Gase's tenure as the head coach, it just seemed that he'd throw players into the doghouse and never let them out. Parker has flashed at times during his four-year career, but health has been a major issue for him. Now that Nick Foles and Teddy Bridgewater have found their homes, it appears that the Dolphins will sign one of Tyrod Taylor or Ryan Fitzpatrick as a one- or two-year holdover until they can get their potential franchise quarterback through the draft. The fact that Parker was re-signed to a new deal, it does give a bit of hope, as it shows that Flores and new offensive coordinator Chad O'Shea have a clear role for him in the offense. The issue is that there isn't much talent around him, and without a quarterback, it's tough to get excited about anything more than WR4/5-type production.
