Jonas Johansson heads to FLA

Jonas Johansson was claimed by the Florida Panthers and will be serving as the third goalie behind Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight.

The Avalanche waived him as Pavel Francouz is returning. He was able to muster a 3-2-1 record with a 3.89 GAA and lackluster .880 save percentage.

Jonas Johansson hits the waiver wire

Jonas Johansson has been placed on waivers as of December 12th. He was listed as a scratch in Sunday's game versus the Florida Panthers,

Fantasy Impact

This is due to the return of Pavel Francouz. Johansson carried a 3-2-1 record through his six starts this year, including a 3.89 GAA and .880 save percentage. One of the those losses was an 8-3 drubbing by the Toronto Maple Leafs as he was summoned to start last minute.

Jonas Johansson bounces back for Avalanche

Jonas Johansson was the winning goalie in Colorado's 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. He stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced.

Fantasy Impact

Hopefully this game will help restore some of his confidence after the 8-3 debacle that occurred the night before in Toronto. It was a relatively easy night for him but he backstopped the Avs to a win and that's all that matters. This is his third win of the season and should see the majority of the starts for Colorado as long as Darcy Kuemper is sidelined.

Jonas Johansson shelled in Toronto

Jonas Johansson was the losing goalie on Wednesday as the Avalanche were crushed by the Toronto Maple Leafs 8-2. He stopped 33 of the 41 shots he faced.

Fantasy Impact

Yikes. Johansson was called up last minute due to Darcy Kuemper being a late scratch and Toronto did damage. Not all the goals were his fault as there was a break away, a tip shot, and some excellent hockey plays by Austin Mathews. Not to mention the Avalanche as a whole looked like they were on the fifth game of this road trip, not the first. Regardless, Johansson looked like he had some very heavy hands and if Kuemper is going to be out for a while, Joe Sakic is going to have to figure something out.
