Brian Duensing earns save Sunday versus New York

Brian Duensing went a scoreless inning in the ninth inning Sunday versus the Mets. He would earn his first save of the season.

Fantasy Impact

Duensing has been a very strong reliever for the Cubs this season and has value in deeper leagues for his ratios and holds (if your league rewards those). He will not be earning many saves though unless Morrow gets hurt.

Brian Duensing with the win Friday versus St Louis

Brian Duensing pitched a scoreless eighth inning and earned his first victory of the season when the Cubs rallied in the bottom of the inning.

Fantasy Impact

He is a good relief pitcher but is not much of an option outside leagues deep enough to have spots for relievers who don't rack up wins or saves.

Brian Duensing on track for Saturday activation

Brian Duensing threw a two-inning, 30-pitch simulated game Thursday afternoon and is eligible to come off the disabled list Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

It looks like Duensing will be back in the Twins bullpen after a minimum DL stint. He has limited value in deep AL-only leagues, but can be ignored in all other formats.

Twins put Brian Duensing on DL with intercostal strain

Brian Duensing will miss an undetermined amount of time due to a right intercostal strain. The Twins have called up Caleb Thielbar from Triple-A to fill the role of left-handed reliever.

Fantasy Impact

Duensing has been widely irrelevant in fantasy this season, but those owners in deep leagues that value holds will miss his production.

Brian Duensing records one-out hold

Duensing came into the game Wednesday night against the Royals to get the final out of the seventh inning after taking over for starter Kyle Gibson. Duensing inherited runners at first and third, but was able to get Mike Moustakas to foul out to third on the first pitch.

Fantasy Impact

Duensing is going to be a candidate for many holds in 2015 as a late inning man for the Twins. He can be largely ignored outside any format that doesn't use holds as a counting category.
