Hamilton accounted for two of the six goals in the 6-1 win. The Canes have now won 9 out of their past 11 and find themselves just 5 points back of the Metropolitan leading Islanders.

Justin Williams scores twice in win over Florida  photo
Wiliams scored the game winning goal midway through the third to help the Canes defeat the Panthers, 4-3. His face paid the price for his first goal as the initial shot from Brett Pesce bounced off Williams right cheek and into the net. The win vaulted the Hurricanes into the 2nd wild-card position ahead of idle Columbus.

Mrazek had 27 stops in the 3-0 shutout. The Canes have won 3 straight to start a season-long five game road trip and are one point out of a wild-card spot. It is Carolina’s second shutout in the past three and their first win at MSG since 2010.

Teravainen scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway in 3-on-3 overtime. It was a crucial game for both squads, with each team chasing a wild-card spot. With the 6-5 win over the Sabres, the Canes have back to back victories to start off their season-long five game road trip.

Sebastian Aho tied the game with just 43 seconds remaining in regulation. However, it took just 15 seconds in the 3-on-3 overtime for the Flames Mikael Backlund to light the lamp for the win.
