Fantasy Impact: Donovan hit a home run in Tuesday's loss against the Mets. Lars Nootbaar is moving over to left field in his absence.

Pedro Pages is in the Cardinals lineup on Wednesday against the Mets.

Fantasy Impact: Pages was called up from Triple-A with Willson Contreras landing on the injured list. He and Ivan Herrera are expected to see more playing time at catcher as a result.

Fantasy Impact: Carlson made his season debut on Sunday and is 0-for-8 since at the plate. He is starting in right field and hitting No. 6 in the lineup.

Fantasy Impact: Goldschmidt has been in a slump to start the season and the Cardinals are hoping a day or two off will help. Goldschmidt should be benched in most formats until he gets his swing right.

Kyle Gibson delivered a middling performance, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.

Fantasy Impact: This outing was somewhat reflective of his season thus far, characterized by a decent but not overly impressive 3.68 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. His 6.8 K/9 continues to suggest limited strikeout upside, which caps his fantasy value primarily to deeper leagues or as a streaming option in favorable matchups. Gibson's performance today neither significantly boosts nor damages his fantasy stock, but it's clear that expectations should be tempered given the underlying metrics.

Fantasy Impact: Edman continues to work his way back from offseason surgery on his wrist. The 28-year-old is continuing to work on his rehab and has yet to progress to full baseball activities. The move to the 60-day IL should not impact his timeline.

The Cardinals have selected the contract of Chris Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis. (Source: Cardinals on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The 26-year-old has a 1.38 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP in 13 innings with Triple-A Memphis. He will take the roster spot of Giovanny Gallegos, who was placed on the IL Monday.

Lars Nootbaar went 1-for-3 in the Cardinals' 5-1 loss to the White Sox.

Fantasy Impact: This performance is a continuation of what has been a challenging season for Nootbaar, who is now batting just .169 through 21 games. His lack of production across the board, with only one home run and a .240 wOBA, is concerning for fantasy managers. Given his current form, it might be wise to consider other outfield options, as Nootbaar's inability to contribute significantly in any statistical category diminishes his value in most fantasy formats. His low BABIP of .203 suggests some bad luck, but not enough to promise a significant turnaround soon.

By Ari Koslow

Lance Lynn struggled through five innings, allowing four earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the White Sox.

Fantasy Impact: This outing marked a slight deviation from his otherwise solid season, pushing his ERA up to 3.28 and WHIP to 1.40. Despite the rough start, Lynn's season-long metrics, including an 8.3 K/9 and a 2.06 strikeout-to-walk ratio, suggest he can still be a valuable asset in fantasy rotations. However, his elevated 4.66 FIP indicates potential underlying issues that could affect his performance moving forward. Fantasy managers should monitor his next few starts closely for signs of improvement or further regression.

Nolan Arenado had a standout performance in the Cardinals' 6-5 loss to the White Sox, going 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored, while also drawing two walks.

Fantasy Impact: This game highlighted Arenado's ability to deliver power and precision, significantly boosting his season RBI count to 19 and his batting average to .296. His consistent contact and ability to get on base have been evident with a .331 wOBA, and today's multi-hit game should reassure fantasy managers about his value in lineups. Despite the team's loss, Arenado's individual performance remains a silver lining for fantasy managers looking for reliable third base production.
