Eduardo Rodriguez agrees to 4-year contract with Arizona

by Kelly Kirby | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Dec 6th 11:15pm EST

Eduardo Rodriguez and the Arizona Diamondbacks are in agreement on a four-year, $80 million contract. With vesting options, it could become a five-year, $99-million deal. (Jeff Passan)

Fantasy Impact:

Rodriguez is coming off a great year where he pitched 152 2/3 innings, struck out 143 batters, and had a 3.30 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The 30-year-old has a career K% of 23.75 and figures to slot in as Arizona's SP2 behind Zac Gallen. Fantasy managers should note that his xERA last season was 4.04, which would make him more of an SP3/4 on fantasy rosters. However, he is currently going in the 17th round in 12-team NFBC drafts, so the investment isn't outrageous.
